You can either become a specialist and focus your expertise exclusively on areas such as criminal defence, product liability, insurance fraud, and accident reconstruction, or you can become a generalist and work cases ranging from marital/custody to skip-tracing to due diligence. The choice is yours.
However, in Ireland, as in other countries, there is a catch-22 situation. In order to get a job as a Private Investigator, you must have experience, and in order to gain experience, you need to have on the job training. City Investigations in association with City Investigations Group are the only training academy in Ireland who are delighted to offer you both the training and the experience.
We will not only give you all the information you need to open your own business and become a qualified investigator capable of conducting your own investigations, we can also offer you a choice of 80, 100 or 140 hours of on the job training, giving you the edge over other investigators who are entering the market with only a certificate and no physical training.
You will accompany our experienced investigators to a variety of cases. We have operatives who deal with surveillance and others who specialise in IP Investigations to Company Fraud. If these are areas which you enjoy but you would like to specialise in another area we can accommodate any reasonable request for on the job training. As well as our on the job training, we also offer you a fully comprehensive theoretical training course.

- Tracing people the techniques involved.
- Law for the private investigator.

- Interviewing and taking statements.

When you have completed this course you will take a final examination. Full details of this examination are automatically sent to you as you near the end of the course.
